Another Theme from Automattic. This one uses the page hierarchy as the way to control what is shown for the Homepage Excerpts. Each of the images you click on are a Child of the Parent page that is named “Grid Layout Page” slug(grid-layout-page).
I looked at a site in Edmonton today. I notice they’re using a theme called Jupiter.
A potential client called me and was asking about my design services and how much it would cost to setup a WordPress website, find and install a theme suitable for a Tech IT company and then finally port all of their pages over to the new installation. My thoughts on that were why not see what I can do in 2 days @ 60/hr that works out to $960.00.
They don’t have much content so I can port that over quickly, then set it up and then get the taxonomy of categories and tags done. Then I’m sure I will have enough time to write a few good posts.
They had someone else on the side for writing posts. My idea is why not have both of us write a weekly post for a few weeks. A little posting competition. 😉 Good for everyone to get some competition going.
Those of you who know me personally understand that I love the Mountains. This mobile responsive theme from Automattic is a fantastic showcase for some of the great Mountains of the world.
Scrawl – this is another theme from Automatic. I’ve made some changes. Blog posts usually display in a reverse chronological order, I’ve reversed that. The fly out menu has also been modified to show a jQuery collapsible menu. I selected the class from the original menu so it looks just like that one but is collapsible.
Dyad is another site from Automatic. This theme is so efficient at creating a cool site that it was much easier to build it than I thought it would be. Only took one day including the scraped content from Wikipedia and Google Images
I needed another restaurant theme so I can maybe sell a site. Lot’s of them around and we all blow lots of dough at these don’t we? This site needs work, some of it needs more advanced CSS so I’m going to try something over the next few days.
